Born in Ireland, Tanya also lived in England for three years before moving to Canada. She started dancing when she was five; however, it wasn't until she was in high school that she fell in love with acting. Over the past few years Tanya has been working professionally in theatre as well as film.
She starred in the Canadian short film Desastre which screened at the 2004 Toronto Film Festival and it was also nominated for a 2005 Genie award. Some of Tanya’s theatre credits include such plays as David Auburn’s Proof in the role of Catherine and David French’s Salt-Water Moon in the role of Mary Snow.
As a writer Tanya is currently writing her first play "Bathtub Confessions" as well as working on a new TV series idea.
A graduate of the Second City Conservatory program, Tanya has improvised on the Second City main stage many times with her conservatory group. She has also preformed sketch comedy around Toronto with comedy troupes The Relative Unknowns and the Clip-On Ties.
Tanya currently lives in Toronto with her husband actor, director and playwright Derek Ritschel.
